It is the unique relationship between our customers, cutters and tailors that drives our craft forward, and from which our reputation has been built. This consistency is achieved by the passing down of knowledge from our experienced tailors in our workshop and constantly perfecting the process of bespoke tailoring while being alert to the requirements and wishes of our customers.

Send feedbackThanks for the feedback. We will improve this article.Collaboration and ExperienceThe bespoke department is situated in-house at our flagship shop at No.1 Savile Row. Customers are met by their cutter, who’ll guide them through cloth choices, design of garments and take measurements.
Our collections of cloth range from luxurious cashmeres for overcoats to the lightest breathable wools for warmer climates, alongside a growing range of more rugged but soft linens, jersey, and cottons for the more versatile contemporary garments.
The cutter will then create a personal paper pattern by hand, from which the cloth will be struck. This is passed on to the tailor who’ll start to construct the garments with the required fittings needed to complete the first commission. The pattern is updated after each fitting to ensure accuracy; it also means that subsequent orders will require fewer fittings.

The cutters, tailors, and finishers all work closely together as each specialised skill in creating a bespoke garment is intimately related.
From the measuring of the body, the design of a garment, how the pattern is created, to choices of cloth and construction. The tailor will mould and sculpt the cloth by shrinking, stretching, using multiple sewing techniques to create a unique three-dimensional garment, which is finished by an expert hand with the smallest most delicate but durable silk thread hand finishing.

The bespoke suit still holds its position as the core of our wardrobe; for it to remain relevant, versatile, and functional it will continue to evolve, as it has done throughout our history.

Military ServicesBespoke & Made to Measure
Our recognition of creating military uniforms with the highest distinction continues today with our bespoke service. These uniforms are all individually hand-cut and handcrafted by our skilled artisans at No.1 Savile Row.
Each bespoke uniform entails approximately 100 hours of careful craftsmanship, spanning three to four fittings, ensuring the perfect fit and finish. With over 30 measurements taken and a unique pattern cut for each individual, this extraordinary experience in traditional hand tailoring unfolds over a period of three to four months from conception to completion.
For those seeking a high-quality military garment with a quicker turnaround time and a more accessible pricing point, our Made to Measure (MTM) service is the ideal choice.
This service involves taking measurements and refining the fit with the help of a trial garment, ultimately resulting in a customised uniform. The MTM process takes place in 8 to 10 weeks, offering a balance of efficiency and quality.

WEEE Regulations
- The Waste and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is UK law.
- The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
- The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
- Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
- Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
- Distributors of Electrical Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
- We are obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when you buy from us a new Electrical or Electronic product.
- For example, if a customer bought a new stopwatch/pedometer from us we would accept their stopwatch/pedometer and prevent it going into landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
- Under the WEEE regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:
- Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from the normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
Our right to vary these terms and conditions
- The Seller reserves the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be subject to the terms and conditions that are in force at the time that you order goods from the Seller unless:
- any change to these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or governmental authority, in which case the changes may apply to orders previously placed by you; or
- the Seller notifies you of any changes to these terms and conditions before it accepts your order, in which case the Seller has the right to assume that you have accepted the change to the terms and conditions unless you notify the Seller to the contrary within seven (7) working days of receipt by you of the goods.
Governing law and jurisdiction
- These terms and conditions are subject to English law.
- The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all claims or disputes (whether contractual or non-contractual) arising in relation to, out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.
- Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect your statutory rights.
